Well, it's a bit late, but Happy Mother's Day to all those important women in our lives! We had a nice mother's day. Bryan's mom was here with us and the older kids spent part of the day here before they went to their mom's house. Church was nice, our ward got a new bishop the week before and so the new bishopric spoke about the importance of womanhood and mothers. It was nice, not guilt talks. THEN, the young women in our ward took over primary for the week so all the women could attend Sunday School and then Relief Society. The room was packed during Relief Society with all of us Primary ladies. It was a nice break, although, I admit I wasn't really looking forward to it, but it turned out nicer than I thought!
Carson and Morgan (through Daddy) gave me a really nice present - matching yellow pajamas! It was a very cute idea. Jordan, Rylee and Cameron gave me a gift certificate to Hobby Lobby which I can't wait to spend. I love all their scrap booking stuff.
Morgan is now sitting up! He also loves to grab any hair on your head, babble, play with his toys and stand as often as possible. He is turning into such a big boy. He had his six-month check up last week. He is 18 lbs 4 oz. He also had two shots and hardly cried. The nurse even made a comment about how good he was. I think he is getting used to being poked, since he had to have his blood taken once a month until he was six months old. We don't have to do that again until July. Morgan loved being taken care of by Grandma Sant. He was full of smiles and kisses for her. Yesterday, he had his first lollipop! He loved it! It took him about 2-3 tries to get it into his mouth and then he never let it go until I was able to pry it away from his hand. He was not about to let go!
Carson is a regular chatterbox. She is always saying things that make me smile. We bought the kids a trampoline for Christmas and she loves to "jump on the trampoline" and she actually says it quite clear. She is always asking, "May I..." I have no idea where she picked this up from. She also cries and screams a lot when she doesn't get her way. We tell her, "Carson, my ears are hurting from your crying/screaming so you have to go in the other room"... At first she looked at us with a blank stare and would get more upset, but now she has realized if she doesn't get it in check, we will physically remove her from the room! And I have also found that the softer I say it the better she is. She is quicker at stopping the crying. Sometimes when she won't stop (because she is tired), we put her in our room on our bed and either she cries herself to sleep or just gets over it. She always comes out and say, "Mom, I not crying." It's pretty funny. Anywho, I could go on and on about her - she is at a good age.
Cameron is almost done with kindergarten. Last week, his class put on a Mother's Day Tea and we were all invited. They made hats and flowers for us AND they sang several songs for us - meant to touch our heartstrings. His teacher had each child march into the room and place the hat they had made on their mom's head. Now, if that didn't get the tears a rollin', I have no idea what would. It was precious. I can't believe that he is growing up so fast.
Rylee's 3rd grade class has been working diligently over the past month on a musical "Rats" which is based on the story of the pied piper. They did a great job and she was really excited. Her teacher made a CD for them to practice with and everyday, I would find her in her room, listening to the CD and practicing. She loves to perform.
Jordan is almost done with 6th grade! I can hardly believe it. The other day, I had this feeling of panic when I realized that he would be in seminary in two and half years. Then our life is really going to be busy. At least he likes to get up early in the morning! It's always a contest between him and Rylee who wakes up first, although, most mornings lately, Morgan has been beating them all. He wakes up around 5 am - 5:15 am. Jordan just received his "Tenderfoot" award advancement in Boy Scouts. We are sure proud of him. He is going to be going to Scout Camp in July.
Bryan survived working tax season at H &R Block! He didn't even have a moment to relax as I had my surgery the next day and he had to start doing the paper route for me. He has been really great to do it with no complaints. I still have a couple of weeks before I can do it again. He is getting extremely tired, trying to keep up with the Jazz (GO JAZZ) and all the political debates/news, etc. I'm amazed he can keep going as much as he does for as little sleep as he actually gets!
