So what I thought was going to be a simple outpatient surgery, turned into much more. I actually had four hernias, when it was all said and done. I knew something was up the moment I woke up in the recovery room and I WAS IN PAIN! It was excruciating. I was lucky enough to land on the pediatrics floor for two days/nights while I recovered in the hospital. I must say, they were the best nurses around, so kind, so helpful and sympathetic. I felt very lucky because most of the rooms at the hospital are two beds and in pediatrics they are singles -- so that made my experience so much better.
I finally made it home on Thursday afternoon and stayed at our house until Friday morning when Eileen brought me over to Charleston, to stay here with Jackie. She has been great, taking care of my kids and me. We are headed back to Springfield tmw.
We went to Walmart yesterday, my first journey out of this house since I got here and I walked in to the store and new that was enough. I stayed and looked at the scrapbook stuff in the front while Jackie shopped. It was great to get out!
Again, I am very lucky for all the prayers and support we have received. We would never be able to make it through without dear friends (who are our family away from family)... It means so much.
