I finally had my surgery to correct my hernia (which happened after Morgan's birth from my c-section) and I feel great! I couldn't believe how much better I felt just even a few days after the surgery. I'm so glad!!!!! I'm back to a pretty normal life - except I can't lift anything over 15 lbs until May 29th... which means I need help with Morgan and Carson until then. We are lucky that Bryan's mom is coming out to stay with us for two weeks. She arrives tomorrow and stays through the 14th. It will be so nice to have her here and the kids are very excited for her to spend some time with us.
The day after my surgery, Bryan took Carson, Morgan and I over to Charleston to stay with our friends, the Goddards, while I was recuperating. It was a wonderful week and a half. The kids loved "Nanny Jackie" and had a great time. It was nice to be able to relax and rest. Jackie brought us back here on Friday and we are just preparing for Grandma Sant's arrival. The kids are very excited to have her stay with us for two weeks!

HAPPY EASTER! I hope everyone had a nice Easter. It was freezing cold here in Illinois. We have had freeze warnings each night since Wed or Thur of last week. Rylee didn't want to wear one of her new dresses because it was too cold outside. Oh well, she can wear them sometime after Spring really hits! We had a nice Easter with the kids. Each of them received a bag of goodies. Carson wasn't interested in her bag at all, just everyone elses! Even though they all had the same things in them. She also looked really cute in her new Easter dress. It was light blue and matched her eyes really well.
We have a sign on our door that says, "$2.53" which is how much money Cameron is holding onto right now. He thinks he is rich! And he was very excited when he opened his Easter bag and there was an egg with $1 in it to add to his $2.53. Now he doesn't know what to do with all the money he has... He has been so much better the past couple of weeks and so much fun. He loves to play games and I constantly find him setting up games for us to play. Even ones that neither one of us has a clue on how to play. He is learning to play Othello pretty well and has beat me a couple of times.
Jordan passed the sacrament for the first time yesterday and did a fabulous job! We are so proud of him. I can't believe how grown up he is now. As I was dropping him off last Wednesday for Young Men's, I watched him walk into the building and thought to myself, "Man, the next 6 years are going to go by fast!" Pretty soon, he will be in high school and then all the stuff that comes with that. Are we ready to be parents to teenagers? We better gear up because once it begins, we will always have a teenager until Morgan graduates from high school.
Bryan's mom is going to be staying with us for a couple of weeks, the first two in May. I'm so thankful that she wanted to come out here and stay with us and help me while I'm recovering from my surgery. I won't be able to lift more than 10 lbs for 4 weeks. At Morgan's drs appt last week, he weighed in at a whopping 17 lbs 13 oz so he is off limits as far as lifting goes, but I will still be able to hold my little bundle of joy! I sure love him.
Rylee has taken up an extreme interest in the "Tennis Shoes among the Nephites" series again, reading the books we have and listening on CD. She thinks it's "All That" and is constantly reading me excerpts from the book. She loves reading about the developing "love story" between Garth and Jennie. It's fun to see her so interested. She also asked me yesterday about plural marriage and why it was in Mexico (since the book is about the Book of Mormon prophets)...
We were able to watch the show "The Testaments" as a family last night. I am the only one who has seen it before. It was awesome to hold my little ones and watch this movie as Christ appeared to the Nephites. I experienced some new feelings about the movie, since this is the first time I have watched it as a parent. I LOVE IT! Everyone was equally touched last night and Cameron said it was his favorite movie. At the end of the movie, after Christ heals Helam and Helam looks upon the Savior for the first time, Cameron kept commenting on how Jesus was brighter than the sun... I told him that is because he is THE SON. The Son of the living God. It was a neat moment.
